Arenys de Mar is a coastal town belonging to the Maresme. With just over 15,000 inhabitants, this town still maintains the essence of the old fishing village that was in the past. Currently it has the most important fishing port in the province of Barcelona, the main economic engine of this municipality.
This town is settled at the end of the Arenys stream and is close to the Montseny massif and the Montnegre Corridor Natural Park. This, added to its several kilometers of beaches, makes Arenys de Mar a destination with great natural diversity.

The urban nucleus of this town is located only 40 kilometers from Barcelona. It has an excellent road connection, with direct access to the N-II and the C-32 motorway. The commuter train covers the journey to the center of Barcelona in just 50 minutes.
Arenys de Mar also has an active trade in La Riera, the main street of the town, axis of the local economy. The two rows of hundred-year-old plane trees shading the sidewalks give it a unique and peculiar image, hard to forget.
Among the discreet town houses is the Plaza de la Iglesia and, next to it, the Mercado, a modernist building where you can buy fresh and seasonal products. Another of the most emblematic buildings of the town is El Calisay, an old herbal liquor distillery that is now a municipal cultural center.
