Surrounded by a unique environment, Costa Daurada is one of the greatest spots in the Mediterranean coast. It has high quality of its beaches and also great cultural diversity. There is an amusement park, one of the largest in Europe, called Port Aventura. The Catalan coast has a wide variety of places ideal for family fun at just 92 km from Barcelona. Its beaches of fine golden sand attract millions of visitors across its 216 km length. Catalan coast is a beautiful destination with about twenty towns within Cunit and Alcanar in the Province of Tarragona.

The capital town is Salou; archetypical place to be for all those who love the sea and also enjoy culture and fun. It is very close to the amusement park: Port Aventura. It has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and it is now in construction of a big new area called Ferrari Land. It is a big project that will bring plenty of new visitors. Salou is also a great destination for those who enjoy seafood cuisine, beach or modernist architecture; all of this in less than an hour from Barcelona. In the Costa Dorada!

Salou, capital town of Costa Dorada

Garraf, next to the Costa Dorada, has remarkable beaches such as Tamarit, with its magnificent castle, or the Arrabassada, as a classic family destination. Salou is the perfect destination for those who loves the sea. It is the capital of the Costa Dorada and its number of visitors doubles the amount of inhabitants. There are about 26,000 inhabitants and it has been calculated over 55,000 visitors.

Beaches, coves and pools become the scene of an endless summer, while fine cuisine and modernist heritage attracts visitors all year round. An incredible vacation spot that used to make a good combinations together with all the fun from the big amusement park next to it, a leisure destination to enjoy of good weather even past September. The town hosted the International Congress of Family Tourism last year. There must be a reason!

Port Aventura, a reference destination

Port Aventura has achieved an overwhelming success as amusement park in two decades. After doubling its surface in 2013, the park has now over 200 hectares and it is capable to accommodate more than 60 million visitors. Those are pretty good numbers plus the addition of the success of the Convention Center PortAventura Business & Events that has already held 183 events in 2015.

Some examples are: the 42nd edition of the UN Inter-agency Games with representatives from 127 countries, its role as a hub of the 51st Rally RACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada, television programs like the final of Masterchef Junior or corporate events of companies such as Seat, T-Systems IBM and HP. The complex has added new attractions year after year and now it is prepared to face a greater challenge: the launch of Ferrari Land in 2017.

Ferrari Land: passion for F1

There is room for the iconic Italian car manufacturer in PortAventura!

The highest roller coaster in Europe, reaching 112 km/h, two free fall towers of 55 meters high, a reproduction of the Roman Coliseum and a familiar race track of 570 meters are some of the new rides the amusement park is preparing for the launch in 2017 dedicated to Ferrari.

Italian-inspired, Ferrari Land will have an atmosphere and a commercial offer to recall the prancing horse in every detail. Reproductions of iconic buildings and typical Italian cuisine. Details still to be finished during the incoming months and with an eye toward its finalisation by the end of 2016. The launch will be in 2017. You can see a video released by PortAventura.

With a total area of 60,000 m2, Ferrari Land will involve an investment of 100 million euros and expects to be ready for its opening in early 2017. PortAventura and Costa Dorada have 4 million visitors per year; it is a very attractive destination.
