One of the most revolutionary restaurants of the last decades will give way to Ferran Adrià’s new creative space. The Bulli 1846 begins the countdown of its rerun on the Costa Brava.
The works of the creative project projected by the chef Ferran Adrià are resumed. The Bulli 1846 is preparing to open its doors in January 2018.
With the approval of the new exterior design of the Bulli Foundation, the new knowledge and outreach center is ever closer.
Adrià takes one of the best spots on the Costa Brava of Girona, to reconvert its mythical Cala Montjoi restaurant in El Bulli 1846.
This creative space, beyond the haute cuisine, will put in value the Natural Park of the Cap de Creus.
Bulli 1846 relieves Bulli Lab
Last July 30, 2017, Ferran Adrià closed the doors of the Bulli Lab. A huge interdisciplinary space next to Montjuic which will take over the bullfight El Bulli 1846 from Cala Montjoi in January 2018.
With the closing of its emblematic restaurant, already a lustrum, Adrià reinvented its trajectory through Bulli Foundation. A project with which he has created a great asset of Bulli that will culminate with the publication of twenty books summarizing all his work.
A compilation of the craft and gastronomic science that will precede the new creative space installed in the same place where everything began: the Cap de Creus de Girona.
Although with some delay, El Bulli will see the light in a few months.
A renewed and expanded project
The project initially approved in 2012 had permission to expand the area of ??the old restaurant by 20%.
However, it ended up also including the lifting of new buildings. From an access pavilion to an outdoor garden area as an exhibition space and a parking space with 45 spaces. Details for which the municipality of Roses denied the works permit in 2016.
Finally, the own Ferran Adrià presented / displayed a complementary project that has finished to receive the approval of the Administration.
The works can be resumed as soon as the municipal license is available. And aiming at the culmination of the new space in early 2018.
The natural surroundings of the Costa Brava
The space occupied by the future Center of Creativity of Bulli will serve, not only to spread the gastronomy but also in the environment where it will be located: the Cap de Creus Natural Park.
From Cala Montjoi, El Bulli will promote the landscape of the Costa Brava, its gastronomy and a sustainable tourism model.
An environment where localities such as Roses, Platja d’Aro, Sant Feliu de Guíxols or Tossa de Mar allow you to enjoy in all its splendor.
